Kitchen Appeal

Thursday, January 26, 2012
When we reminisce about childhood, or special occasions, we often envision ourselves in a warm kitchen. Kitchens are a focal point of our lives and a well designed kitchen can really add to the value of a home. Gone are the days of formica counter tops and white appliances, todays luxury buyers are chiefly interested in stainless steel and granite, however there are certain upgrades that are simple and easy.  Here are some tips for upgrading your kitchen to attract the right buyer and simply improve the value of your home!
1.       Solid Wood Cabinets: Wood Cabinetry softens stainless steel appliances and creates more warmth in an environment.
2.       Granite Counter Tops: This is an industry standard, due to the ease of cleaning and the clean look.
3.       Fresh Coat of Neutral Paint: This may sound like Feng Shui, but neutral colors in a kitchen have universal appeal.
4.       Stainless Steel Appliances: Stainless Steel is also an industry standard and they can be found in lower end brands and high end brands.
5.       Hot Ticket Appliances: Wine Coolers, trash compactors, and energy efficient dishwashers are in demand now and they are also environment friendly.
6.       Brand Names: The leading brands in appliances at the moment are Sub Zero, Miele, Gagganau, and Bosch. Prospective Buyers recognize these brands and in turn are attracted to them simply by the brand alone.
7.       LED Lights: These energy efficient lights are gaining in popularity since they do not require changing often and they are energy efficient.
